Dear Beach Park Families,


I hope everyone is enjoying the summer! School will be back in session soon, but I hope everyone is able to soak in some final summer moments doing what they love. I was able to spend quality time with friends and family. My husband, my seven year old Alfie, and I went to visit my in-laws in Dominican Republic for two weeks. It was an amazing experience to hike in the jungle and caves, swim at the beautiful beaches and enjoy the authentic food. 


I’m enthusiastic about leading Beach Park for our second year as a school community- and the best part is we are able to start our year in person on our brand new campus! Myself and teachers went to an empowering and inspiring conference over the summer, Design Thinking Institute presented by Nueva School. During the course of the four days we discussed the best practices for educating students to better prepare them for jobs and ways of life that do not yet exist using the design thinking mindset. I am ready to welcome back all the teachers, students and families for an exciting year in accelerating and amplifying our learning while applying the Design Thinking framework! 


I anticipate a fantastic year as we support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your children. We put our students first and provide them with many opportunities for success. As you know, my door is always open and I welcome your input and feedback. Please feel free to reach out via email or make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas. Please plan on attending all our family community meetings so we are able to collaborate together in partnership to make improvements at our school. Thank you all for your continuous support.

 

2021-2022 School Year Classroom Assignments

Our goal is to create heterogeneous classrooms that are diverse and inclusive. We know your child has unique needs and talents. All students bring assets and are special. We carefully and thoughtfully build classrooms so all students can be successful. Class rosters will be designed by the teachers and principal collaboratively. Thank you for trusting our professional option in creating balanced classrooms for your child. We appreciate your understanding and resisting the urge to request or make any changes in their teacher/classroom assignment. You will receive your classroom assignment on Wednesday, August 11th- they will be emailed to you.

Suggested Supply Lists

Here are our suggested supply lists by grade level. The links provided are suggestions to detail the product.  Items can be purchased from anywhere.  Please have school supplies labeled with your student’s name when they arrive for the first day of school.


Attendance

It is very important that your child be present for the first four days of school. Enrollment at Beach Park continues to increase and we currently have a waiting list in some grade levels. Our school district policy requires us to drop students from our enrollment on the third day of school if the child has not been present and we have not heard from the parents about why the child is absent. In this case, there is no guarantee that the child will be able to re-enroll at Beach Park and s/he may be assigned to another school. If you want your child to attend Beach Park, but you will be gone the first day of school, please email Miss Dani and myself at: ddejardin@smfcsd.net, asnow@smfcsd.net.   

 

Beach Park Bell Schedule for 2021-2022

 

School Lunch

School lunches will be free to ALL students in California. Teachers will take a “lunch count” at the beginning of the day. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. 


Brunch will be served:

Kindergarten- 10-10:30
1st-4th- 10:30-10:50

Lunch will be served:

Kindergarten (ANNEX students only) 1:05-1:30. 
1st-4th- 12:55-1:20

We would like to encourage parents/guardians to send only a water bottle to school and not have to stress about making snacks and lunches for your child. 

Beach Park PTA 

We want to encourage all Beach Park families to join the Beach Park PTA! We would like each family member to join at $10 per member. Please click here to sign up. 


Beach Park Beginning of the Year Events


August 5th and 8th- Beach Park Elementary School PTA is hosting two playdates for kindergarteners and their grown ups.  Please fill out this form before attending.: 

Where: Catamaran Park (At the playground by Catamaran St and Shell Blvd.)

When: Thursday, August 5th at 4:30 pm

Where: Farragut Park (At the playground close to the intersection of Farragut Blvd. and Bridgeport Lane) 

When: Sunday, August 8th at 1:00 pm


August 10th- Beach Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. 
Times and details will be shared next week. 


Wednesday, August 11th, 3-4pm- Back to School Night- Principal Presentation 
Class assignments will be emailed on August 11th.. 

There will be a school wide presentation by Mrs. Snow (Principal) from 3-4pm (details are TBD). 


Wednesday, August 11th, 4-5pm-“The Night Before Kindergarten” 
Kindergarten classes only, You and your child will be able to meet the teachers from 4:00 – 5:00pm. Teachers will host a meeting explaining all things kindergarten. More information will be given closer to the date if it will be in person or on Zoom.


Thursday, August 12th, 8:25am-Welcome to Beach Park- First Day of School Coffee hosted by the PTA- For Parents/Guardians
Beach Park PTA will host coffee and pastries for families (if the Health and Safety Guidelines allows for such events) on Thursday, August 12th, the first day of school, at 8:25 a.m. in the Community Building (Multi-Purpose Building). It is the perfect opportunity to meet Beach Park parents/guardians. There will be a special area designated for new Kindergarten parents. I hope you will consider being an active participant in the activities and committees that are sponsored by the parent organizations at the school. Beach Park is appreciative of the amazing support of our parents and PTA. (Details of this event will be based on the new guidelines of SMCED).
